Today is Rakshabandhan. To celebrate the day, sisters tie rakhi on their brother’s wrist and pray for his long life while the latter promise to protect them for life.

Our day began by tying a Rakhi to this beautiful soul, SHIVDAS, who is a true *Rakshak* to all these babies…
He is not only a wonderful caretaker, he is everything to them..more than a brother ever..

.they look forward to meeting him every morning and it’s so heartwarming to see them follow him like his shadow wherever he goes.

Shivdas, is a simple boy from a village close by who came to Pune to earn some money . He is so well spoken, so gentle, so genuine that it brings me tears of joy to see him interact with these doggies. One of them is epileptic..one is a distemper survivor, he ensures he medicates them daily, no matter what.. I’ve even made him a small first aid kit and he keeps sending me pics and voice notes as to what happened to who and how he’s managing it and how i don’t need to rush .. coz he sees how I’m always on the move 😊…

He feeds them the food that we provide,daily and ensures there is enough water for them…

I can’t believe humans like him still exist and i cannot be more thankful to the universe for him 🙂🙏…and guess what…for all that he does he does not take a single penny from me …so i do whatever little possible whenever possible.

Rakshabandhan was a perfect occasion, most of the doggies under his care are girls 😊💞and i tied the rakhi on his wrist saying it’s from alllll your doggy girls and us who you protect more than yourself..thank you Shivdas. We love you.
