On one of the evenings in Goa, we went chasing the sunset.
We were late but wanted to catch it on the Miramar beach, so we rushed through the traffic and made it just in time . .

While leaving the beach we noticed this tiny little fellow gorging on some ice cream that someone had left for him in a corner. .
.
Mangy, stinky, shivering and very unwell, this poor little creature was all alone. No mother no siblings in sight.

We asked around and people around mentioned that he had just about appeared and no one knew from where. .
.
We lifted him up away from the ice cream because it definitely wasn’t helping his shivering. Wrapped my scarf around him and kept him close to warm him up. .
The shivering stopped. We bought some warm milk and added lots of water to it (the best that was available at that point in time) and he slurped it up like he hadn’t eaten in days. .

We definitely couldn’t leave him all alone there.

Called up various people, shelters and volunteers in Goa. We even rode with him on the bike to PAWS, the panjim shelter but it was shut for the day. .

No one was willing to take responsibility and we couldn’t take him back to where we were staying as they wouldn’t allow. .
.
Finally kind kind Jane agreed to come to a certain point if we were ready to drop him to her. We did that and she took him to a foster. .
.
The poor pup kept puking and had loose motions all night. He was taken to the vet where he got meds and even saline but unfortunately he did not make it 💔💔 .
.
This is the very reason we always say SPAY AND NEUTER.. so that tiny, innocent lovely lives don’t get to see and experience so much pain and misery and die like this. .

Please volunteer to get to know the dogs in your area by starting to feed them..then find out your local shelters that spay and neuter and send them there making sure that they are dropped back where they were picked up from.

One dog produces anything between 3 and 9 puppies each time they are pregnant. They get pregnant every 3-4 months. Do the math. Those many puppies on the streets. Those many approximate miserable deaths. 💔
