A few days ago, it was noticed that Elsa’s breathing was heavy … At first we thought maybe it’s the heat and since she has so much fur, given her breed, she’s uncomfortable with the heat.
A cooler was promptly arranged by the amazing humans at her paid foster… Elsa madam was always around the cooler, yet her breathing didn’t improve.

We sent her for a check up and ran blood work only to know that
1. She has tick fever – for which meds have begun
2. She has lesions on her lung which could be from Tuberculosis that she might have had in the past , considering her history and the kind of environment we rescued her from! TB in dogs is very rare and it is passed on from the human to the animal only!
She now is on lifelong lung support meds for the same.

Considering her age, the less we interfere the better. She is happy and living her life comfortably, filled with love at the wonderful humans and doggies at the shelter.

If we do get a home that knows how to handle her, her age and some minor health issues that she comes with, we will definitely consider ..but we all know how tough that is..

Most humans want perfect dogs! ๐Ÿ‘€
Elsa is perfect in her own way and the home that takes her in will be blessed beyond measure.

One day at a time, Elsu, one day at a time.
