9.3.26 GOPAL – A gentle beautiful soul , all of 7-8 months who met with an accident two weeks ago…has already been through so much.

First the accident, then Gastro and fractures in his leg and spine.

The volunteer who reached out to me for help has taken care of the Gastro treatment expenses and check ups, xrays and blood tests for the further treatment.

The estimated cost for the surgeries are 70,000 with 7-8 days post operative intensive care.
And then foster care for a minimum of 3 weeks with physio.

This is the first time I’ve even known of a spinal surgery doable on a dog who can then go on to lead a normal life on the streets.

Repairing the leg without repairing the spine would make no sense. Letting the spine heal on its own like we do with dogs who get spinal compressions in accidents ..was not an option because the leg was swelling up and infection was increasing..we were dealing with a double edged sword …

The spine surgery will happen first and then the leg..
