Please do read through πŸ™

Chikoo passed away yesterday πŸ’”. Even writing those words feels unbearable. It took us a day to even process what could have gone wrong. One evening ate his meal well and the next morning he was just gone.

I had planned to release him TODAY and had even arranged for a feeder to feed him and keep an eye on him considering he isn’t from the area I feed in. πŸ’”

Just fifteen days after his amputation surgery…just when he was healing, adjusting, showing us that he still chose life…he suddenly collapsed and left us. The vets suspect strongly that it could be Embolism syndrome – Embolism due to accidental trauma and internal bleeding in the past – it is a multi-system inflammatory condition, most commonly caused by fat globules entering the bloodstream after long bone fractures or orthopedic surgery- life threating and that’s what happened with our chikoo is what we suspect 😞

We weren’t ready. We had so much hope wrapped around his tiny, brave body.
As rescuers, we stand beside them through surgeries, sleepless nights, mounting medical bills, and whispered promises that we’ll fight for them no matter what.

But when we lose them, the grief is crushing. It doesn’t get easier just because we’ve done this before.
It sits in our chests while the clinic invoices still wait to be paid, while other injured souls look up at us needing the same chance Chikoo had.

Sorry Chikoo πŸ˜”πŸ™πŸ’”

Your support is what allows us to pick up the pieces of our broken hearts and give the next Chikoo a fighting chance.
If you can help us pay Chikoo’s bills, the QR is in the last slide πŸ˜”πŸ™

Thank you ..
In grief,
