18.5.25 – Datta Maama. #HumansofKarmanye

This is probably my first post ever on my handle for help for a human. That is because this human is special. This is Datta Maama. He is one of the security guards who helps me feed some of my doggies daily, for many years now.  He is a part of the Karmanye Family.

On 14.5.25, as usual he went to feed our doggies at around 7.30 am on his cycle. He fed them, cleaned their water bowl, filled water and left .

While on his way back, he wasn’t even riding his cycle since it was a climb, he was walking with his cycle.
Out of nowhere a rickshaw in full speed banged right into him, flipping him and landing him on the windshield of the rickshaw.  Luckily there was not much traffic around and his life was saved.

There was a lady who happened to know him who witnessed the accident who then called his family who rushed him to the nearest hospital – Manipal hospital in kharadi.

Even in all that pain, mama called me and said “sorry madam , mera accident ho gaya, surgery hone wala hai, main thode dino ke liye khana nahi de paunga” (sorry madam, I’ve met with an accident and I’m going to go through a surgery hence won’t be able to feed for sometime)…

It was so so heartbreaking to know. He sounded in so much pain. He had his surgery the next day and we met him yesterday. He’s still in a lot of pain. Has screws and plates inserted in his leg and it’s going to be a while before he is back. Even in the pain he asked about the “bacchas” and said he dreamt of one of them looking for him 凉梁…

The bill is attached in a slide here ..they were covered 60% by insurance and have paid the rest from their pocket.

The total bill was 3,09,774!!! (Attached here)

I’m here trying to raise whatever little we can for Mama and his family in tough times 

There are very few humans who are genuine and he is one of them..if we could all come together and do whatever little we can for him, it would mean a lot ❤️
