This is JHANSI, our warrior Queen!
She was rescued on the night of 24th of July ’24.
No idea who she belonged to and not much of an idea how this happened. We did hear that it was a bike accident but seemed unlikely looking at the wound.

On ground to see her and coordinate immediate transport we had Bhavesh, Rahul, Anwar, Jaladhi , Rahul , Swapnil and Piyush, who waited till Vishal (VEERSEVAK ANIMAL RESCUE)  arrived with transport and helped her into the vehicle.

It’s almost like a whole village was involved in this rescue..when good humans and good intentions come together, magic happens ❤️ ✨ 🐎

A day or two of making frantic calls here and there, I got in touch with Rohan More who owns and runs Japalouppe, a family-friendly equestrian centre in Talegaon, near Pune.

Rohan has been extremely large hearted and compassionate and gone out of his way to help Jhansi. He actually arranged for a new stable to be built for her overnight and took her in! His sheer passion and love for horses gave us hope! We knew Jhansi was in the safest hands possible!
His team and him gave her the necessary medical treatment and so much more!

She was at Japalouppe for an entire month being looked after by all of them with so much love and care.
It’s hard to find good humans and we are fortunate to have found them for Jhansi.

Yesterday, on the morning of 30.8.24, Jhansi was  moved to THE PROBABLY PARADISE SHELTER in KARJAT.

ROXANNE DAVUR, another angel in disguise, has been extremely generous and taken her in.


Thank you to JAIN JEEVDAYA FOUNDATION in helping us transport Jhansi from Talegaon to Karjat this morning.

Jhansi’s wound is healing well but will need  continuous treatment at the shelter. She will need cleaning and dressing three times a day to ensure she’s away from infection and her wound closes up eventually.

We all know everything costs money 💰😄

We need to now raise funds for her veterinary care and stay at the Probably Paradise shelter.

Also, Jhansi is pregnant, so soon there will be two of them 🐎 🐴 💕🧿…

Coordinating this entire rescue has been super fun – this was my first large animal rescue and  along the way I’ve met some really beautiful human beings who selflessly and quietly do their bit.

On that note , you must know that JAPALOUPPE is conducting a comprehensive Equine Welfare Camp on the 21st and 22nd or SEPTEMBER, ’24.

This camp is designed for individuals who are passionate about horse welfare and want to gain hands-on experience.
