There are very few humans who have the capability of touching the core of my heart. I didn’t realise that one of them would be through Pillya.

His Anna , his father, his caretaker.. this old man…who is a guard at a construction site..He rescued Pillya when he was just 12 days young when Pillya’s mother was killed by a snake bite.
Since then for the last 4 years he has celebrated Pillya’s birthday with so much love. This Diwali Pillya would have been 5. Just 5 .

One evening, Anna overheard some guards talking about how I had helped one of the dogs in that construction area and that’s how he got my number to ask for help for his Pillya.

Though he lives far far away from the area I operate in, there was no way I wanted to deny help to such a beautiful family who were struggling to make ends meet for themselves but did not leave any stone unturned for Pillya.

We were in for a 19 week chemotherapy protocol out of which we completed 7 successfully. He was responding so well to the chemo.

It’s so so so unfair that we lost him to a suspected scorpion bite. 💔
Anna cannot stop crying ever since. He calls me every morning and we just cry together over the phone.
