Today has been a dark day.  A dark dark day. 💔I woke up to a call from a security guard from one of my feeding sites saying four of our dogs have been found dead. He was distraught himself and had no clue what had transpired. They wouldn’t ever leave his side at night ..but last night he couldn’t find them.. he tried looking around and thought they will eventually come around. They didn’t. So he went looking again. ..what he found was their lifeless bodies. 4 of them. 
We don’t know what happened. The area they lived in is not an active construction site.. the security guards there love all of them and help me with taking care of them ..the basti people around there love dogs and also report any accidents or any pups that appear to me..so I know they care and will not do harm.. Besides these 4 , there was one more found dead, down the same road. 
We suspect they must have eaten something toxic , probably a dead pig, a poisoned rat or maybe some rat poison that someone probably kept out..I have absolutely no idea.. and I wish I had answers. We are trying to do what needs to be done and taking the required action.
Seeing them there, lying lifeless, instead of being all over me and greeting me with their wags and squeaks, broke my heart into a million pieces. They don’t deserve this. They don’t. 
 However:1.  THIS IS WHY WE NEED TO PUT IN ALL OUR EFFORTS INTO STERILIZATIONS2. THIS IS WHY WE NEED TO DO OUR BEST TO GET PUPPIES OFF THE STREETS AND INTO HOMES (ADOPTION)3. THIS IS WHY THE LAWS FOR ANIMALS IN THIS COUNTRY NEEDS A RE-HAUL
This is their fate!!! For NO FAULT of theirs! What did they do to deserve this kind of a death?! They were all and only LOVE, that’s what they were…and this is what happened to them!! This is their fate!!! This is what our Indian dogs go through if they live on the streets.. It is heartbreaking 💔
Sarpanch- was the sweetest gentlest soul…he was the wannabe alpha of the pack..that’s why the name.. he would let me pick him up put him in the car, take him for vaccinations, collar him and just about trust me with everything.. he would literally cry when I’d be wanting to leave after feeding him,as if asking me to stay…. I love you Sarpanch..you’ve take a part of me with you 💔
Sheru- he was the alpha of the pack. The real one. The responsible one. Wouldn’t let any other dog come close to me when he was around…yet gentle with all the humans he loved. He would invariably end up sleeping on the security guards bed every night..and they didn’t mind . . I love you too Sheru and you have taken a part of me with you too today.. 
The other two beautiful girls were gentle, shy and timid ..they wouldn’t come too close.. but they’d hang around because they knew they’d get fed. Innocent innocent beings, just gone in a flash! .I’m sorry my babies..for this is what you had to go through being on these cruel streets where humans think only they have a right to build homes. Please forgive us all 🙏 and try and rest in peace. You are all in a better place🙏
